Peanut

Jesse has been an incredible trainer for my very fearful, reactive rescue dog. In just three months, the transformation has been remarkable. When I first adopted her, she was shut down, trembling, and reactive, but now her confidence has soared, and our bond is stronger than ever. Jesse offers supportive and realistic guidance, tailoring each session to Peanut’s needs and helping me develop the skills to make her feel comfortable and confident in a challenging world. I am truly grateful for Jesse’s expertise and dedication.

Samba

Commonwealth Canine Services has really changed our dog’s behavior. She was afraid to walk on the street, but we have taken her now on multiple walks through different cities. Likewise, she used to react to bikes, skateboards, and most anything else that moved. She now ignores them! Jesse has been a great trainer. For a few years now, Samba has been a mentor dog on daily hikes to the Fells and loves it!

Bear & Luna

“Jesse possesses all the qualities to look for in an exceptional dog walker.  He is, first and foremost, passionate about dogs, in addition to being organized, reliable, and thoughtful about pairing dogs together.  I am generally hesitant of letting others take my sometimes-challenging and always-boisterous Aussie’s, but having previously witnessed Jesse’s dog whispering ways first hand in group hikes at the Middlesex Fells, I jumped at the chance to sign up Bear & Luna as his first clients.  I appreciate Jesse’s ability to be an extension of our own training, helping with recall and shaping good play behavior, and trust our pup will return safely and tired.  We love being a part of the Commonwealth Canine Pack.”

Raisin

Jesse was worth every penny in training for our energetic Aussiedoodle! We’d worked with many trainers in the past without much success, but had a completely different experience with Jesse. He was patient & realistic with the training, and we saw results almost immediately. We learned how to manage the high energy of our pup without endless miles of walking and improved her leash aggression to be able to walk calmly on a bike path with dogs, strollers, scooters and more. We cannot thank Jesse enough and highly recommend his services to anyone who is looking for a patient yet effective approach.

Maisy

Commonwealth Canine Services (CCS) truly offers the best services for dogs! Jesse and his team have been working with my dog Maisy since she was about 8 months old. I was in the market for a “dog walker” after Maisy had a negative experience at doggy daycare facilities and even referring to Commonwealth Canine Services as “dog walking” doesn’t do their services justice! When I first started with CCS, Jesse was able to help me provide Maisy with the correct skills to keep her energy at bay and made sure she was being enriched the correct way. I learned so much through these training sessions and Maisy was able to move up and begin going on solo and group hikes with other dogs in the pack. These sessions are great because she gets both the benefit of spending time with other dogs in a neutral way along with reinforcing behaviors she learned during her training sessions. Maisy is so well behaved and truly a different dog than before she started with CCS! I was grateful how patient Jesse was not only training Maisy but training me to make sure we built a solid foundation for Maisy to be the great dog she is today! Maisy’s hikes are the best parts of her week and often waits by the door when she hears the word “hike” knowing she is about to go have the best time! I highly recommend Commonwealth Canine Services for all your dog needs and can guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

Newman

“I have nothing but praise and gratitude for what Jesse has done with my dog.  Newman is ecstatic when Jesse arrives and he is exhausted and happy when he returns.  Jesse’s communication regarding timing of hikes, how the dogs are doing together and observations on how my slightly older dog is doing instill confidence that Newman is safe and cared for.  I look forward to the days Newman hikes with Jesse and his pack. I would encourage anyone looking for a safe and more engaging daily option for their dog to give it a try.”

Giles

“I could not be happier to have brought our pup Giles to Jesse for training. Jesse uses a positivity approach that makes it fun to train, both for Giles and for me and my wife. Giles is a two year old cattledog/pit mix with way too many smarts and so so so much energy. In the past we have struggled with, among other things, leash reactivity, hyperfocus on distractions, and people/dog/everything anxiety. We’ve been working with Jesse for close to six months now and I can definitely tell the difference. Jesse likes to make sure you know how to play with your dog and “meet their needs.” He is PATIENT and engages you with every aspect of training. He narrates everything he does so you understand what he is doing and, most importantly, why he is doing it. Since starting to work with Jesse, Giles has gone from almost unwalkable on the leash to loving our morning runs. And he willingly gives up the socks he constantly finds when we ask him to “give it.” We are still working on that anxiety and counterconditioning, but oh man has the training paid off. I joined Jesse and Giles for a hike in Middlesex Fells this past Sunday and got to see first hand how all our training has paid off when Giles (almost) completely ignored a passing deer. I simply could not recommend Jesse more.”

Monque

“I don’t usually make endorsements. However, I have to make an exception when it comes to Jesse. I met Jesse in the Fells dog park and have gone on walks with him and his dog Tessie almost everyday since. This allowed me to get to know Jesse and I have always been impressed with how he treats not only his dog, but all the dogs. He has a real love for them. He is not just a person with a dog, he is a dog person. If you’re looking for a very experienced dog walker, this is your man. Jesse Gaboury. You wont find a better dog person.”

Harper

“Jesse is amazing. We’ve had a lot of dog walkers and he is – by far – the best we’ve had. Jesse is professional, punctual, and organized. He always shares his schedule well in advance and if there are any changes, he makes sure to communicate them in a timely way. Most importantly though, you can tell he really cares about our dog. Jesse takes such good care of our girl, going out of his way to accommodate her when she had a limp for a few days. He also sends us pics each day, which we really enjoy. Though my husband and I both work from home, we think the added expense of hiring Jesse is well worth it – our dog comes back tired and happy every time. Thanks Jesse!”

Maverick

“Jesse’s love for dogs is apparent from the get go. I’d been hiking with them for months before Jesse started up the business, and it’s always been a wonderful time! I don’t trust many people with my rowdy husky Maverick, but I definitely trust Jesse. He is calm and in control on the hike while never forgetting to play and interact with each dog as it needs, and Maverick always comes home ready for a long nap, which is what I need! Can’t recommend enough!”

Bodhi

We have all heard of dog whisperers, but Jesse Gaboury is the real deal.  My Bernedoodle, Bodhi, grew up at the end of a leash in the city during COVID.  He is incredibly happy and loves people and dogs but his “hellos” became almost too enthusiastic. It got to the point that I dreaded taking him for walks. The constant lunging at dogs, cars, bikes, trucks etc. led to shorter walks during off hours and left both of us frustrated. I met Jesse when he was walking another dog and his gentle and patient disposition as Bodhi lunged at them took me and Bodhi by surprise. In 8 weeks Jesse has invited forward the best version of Bodhi. His patience, positive reinforcement and mad love for dogs that has “trained” both myself and Bodhi to walk with ease. In addition, Bodhi’s group hikes with Jesse are often off leash because Bodhi comes when he is called and continues to learn how to temper his enthusiasm when he crosses paths with other dogs and walkers. Bodhi and I would highly recommend Jesse if you are looking to bring out the best version of your dog or you as a dog owner.  As a side note, if you just say “Jesse”, Bodhi bolts to the front door and waits at attention for his arrival!

Layla

This past summer Layla and I met Jesse while hiking in the Middlesex Fells. Layla is a sweet rescue dog, with mild anxiety and a fear of males. I was amazed when Layla willingly approached Jesse without any hesitation. My amazement turned to shock when Layla started following him along the path, barely looking back at me! From that day on I have always thought of Jesse as the  “dog whisperer” or “pied piper of pups”. His calm, gentle, but firm manner has been the perfect fit for Layla since Day 1. In three years, I had never seen Layla so happy and at ease with a male who she had just met. Jesse’s constant communication and updates, including pictures and videos of Layla’s group hikes, have made my transition back to work stress-free. I have felt very fortunate and grateful to have Jesse’s amazing flexibility and support. His training during the hikes is just an added bonus that Layla has greatly benefitted from! Thanks Jesse! WOOF! WOOF!

Maggie

I’ve had reservations about giving my extremely rambunctious and energetic golden, Maggie to anyone other than family. However, after hiking with Jesse in the Lynn-Fells, talking about training philosophy, and seeing how he handles his own dog, Tessie, I decided to use his services while on business trips. Jesse’s attention to each dogs’ needs, consistent and constant communication through fun pictures of Maggie playing and hiking were such a joy to receive while I was away.  The pictures and recaps of the day became a fun and exciting distraction while away from my furry friend. Jesse is such a great person, dog lover and dog hiker so much so that I offered to write this testimonial without solicitation. I highly recommend his services and always recommend him to friends and family whenever I’m asked about dog walking, hiking and training services.

Winnie

When Jesse first started with us and Winnie, he spent an hour being barked at from a distance and we spent an hour helplessly trying to calm her down. Over the last year, Jesse’s patience has allowed Winnie to develop relative comfort with strangers and coping mechanisms for outside triggers (yes! Coping mechanisms for a dog!). He has also given us the tools we need to help Winnie stay settled in her surroundings. After trying multiple training methods without success (both self taught and in consultation with our vet) and being unwilling to work with a trainer that uses traditional, punishment-based methods, we could not have been happier to find Jesse. We highly, highly recommend him for any training you might need!

Clover

“Linking up with Jesse and his pack of hiking dogs has been one of the highlights of 2020 for our family and our pup, Clover.  When she happily rips down the stairs at our pick up times, it’s quite clear that Jesse and Clover have a special bond.  We really appreciate Jesse’s calm, consistent care and professionalism.  He is a natural leader, great communicator, and gives us peace of mind while Clover is out having fun on their adventures.”
